Sainte-Maxime and its surrounding area offer lovers of horse riding all they could ever want. The Sainte Maxime stud in the Hautes Ribes provides 10 hectares of landscaped parkland with direct access to the Massif des Maures. The facility is organised and supervised by professionals and welcomes anyone who loves horse riding. Les Poneys du Verderet, on the Plan-de-la-Tour road, is a horse-riding centre that offers courses, lessons and activities for all from age 3 onwards.

water skiing, jet ski and sea scooter - You can practise the exciting sport of water-skiing on the Nartelle beach. The sport is part of the history of Sainte-Maxime as it has been practised on this particular beach since the sixties. Various clubs and centres offer beginners' and advanced courses (you must have a boating licence to use a jet ski or sea scooter).

The marina accommodates boats measuring 5 to 25m and has 771 moorings. The 'Club nautique de Sainte Maxime' is affiliated to the FFV (French Sailing Association) and offers all styles of navigation as well as beginners' and advanced courses. Private hirers also offer boats for hire at the port.

There are a number of diving clubs to introduce you to the wonders of underwater plant and animal life. They will be happy to welcome you for your very first dive or for beginners' or advanced courses. There are opportunities for exploring, discovering wrecks or going out on night dives around the rocky coasts of the Gulf of Saint Tropez and the Iles d'Hyères.
